Centennial Park (The Scenic)
Timaru’s main mountain biking area. The small valley (formerly a quarry) is set amongst a mixture of native bush, pines, gums, oaks and other exotic trees. Combine the trails to form different tracks.
Track length: A wide range of tracks to suit all ages and abilities.
Start location: Quarry Road off Otipua Road (there are also 2 other access points).
Saltwater Creek to South Beach
A great family ride taking in rural views and cycling though areas of native plants to Otipua Wetlands. A beautiful picturesque coastal track complete with ocean vistas.
Ride duration: 1 hour 45 mins.
Start location: Centennial Park Reserve.
The Whitehorse Trail
A hard-packed track through native bush and indigenous forest with 360 degree views over Waimate. Enjoy a technical downhill run back to the carpark.
Track distance: 6.2km.
Start location: Te Kiteroa carpark.
