Ōtautahi’s winter music festival returns for a fourth massive year, bringing 15 epic artists to the Christchurch Town Hall. FAST5 is netball like you’ve never seen before, including five players a side, shorter quarters, power plays and super shots. Showcasing the vibrant nature of FAST5 for both players and spectators, Christchurch has provided the perfect atmosphere with plans already under way for further fun and innovation this year! The FAST5 Netball World Series features the world’s best, with teams like Australia, England, Jamaica, New Zealand and South Africa having played in the past events with a men’s competition featured across an action packed weekend.

We are excited the Tall Blacks are heading to Ōtautahi Christchurch for a FIBA 2025 Asia Cup Qualifier at Wolfbrook Arena. After several strong performances during the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup, and in a year with the 2024 Olympics, the Tall Blacks will return home in November 2024 to continue their qualification journey for the FIBA 2025 Asia Cup.

Ōtautahi Christchurch will be hosting the first Test match this summer between the BLACKCAPS and England! The Test will be played from Thursday 28 November – Monday 2 December 2024 at Hagley Oval! Info about tickets for the New Zealand Cricket International Home Summer will be released in due course.

The iconic Isaac Theatre Royal is set to play host to the world’s best squash athletes, with the venue secured for the 2025 New Zealand Squash Open in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. The theatre, which was built in 1908, will be decked out with a glass court on stage, allowing fans a spectacular view as the event is contested from March 4th to 9th, 2025. The location will be especially significant for Paul Coll who grew up in Greymouth and went to school in Christchurch. We are really looking forward to the Open coming to Ōtautahi Christchurch next year!
