The most exciting racing on water is coming back to Ōtautahi, Christchurch! The F50s are soon to be flying on Whakaraupō Lyttelton Harbour when the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix returns on the 23-24 March 2024. SailGP is live action racing as you’ve never experienced it before - it has to be seen to be believed. Following its sold out debut this year, 2024 will deliver more thrills, more spills and more excitement. The high-tech, high-speed action features sailing’s best athletes racing in identical hydrofoiling F50 catamarans, flying at speeds approaching 100 km/h. The 2024 event will see the return of popular fan experiences, including the Race Stadium grandstand seating area and the Platinum Lawn. For the first time ever in Christchurch, fans will also be able to purchase behind-the-scenes tours of SailGP’s team bases and technical areas.

We are excited the Tall Blacks are heading to Ōtautahi Christchurch for a FIBA 2025 Asia Cup Qualifier at Wolfbrook Arena. After several strong performances during the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup, and in a year with the 2024 Olympics, the Tall Blacks will return home in November 2024 to continue their qualification journey for the FIBA 2025 Asia Cup.
