Held at Christchurch Town Hall and virtually over 21-22 June, E Tipu 2022: The Boma Agri Summit is focused on supporting Aotearoa’s food and fibre ecosystem to thrive in our changing world.
Backing the summit for a second consecutive year as Host City Partner is ChristchurchNZ.
The partnership sees ChristchurchNZ and E Tipu collaborating to boost the strength of the region’s primary sector and uplift local thought leaders and expertise. The food, fibre and agritech sector is one of Canterbury’s supernodes: industries of considerable regional strength with significant potential for sustainable economic growth. The region produces more than 20% of national agricultural exports, has New Zealand’s leading land-based university, and is home to Aotearoa’s largest tract of productive land and groundwater resources.

As a national event with global reach, E Tipu is a catalyst for important dialogue and meaningful sector change, featuring eye-opening talks, interactive workshops, innovative exhibits and more. The summit propels action and tangible outcomes for the primary sector — connecting growers, innovators, youth, iwi, changemakers, technologists, educators, businesses and policymakers.
E Tipu 2022 will once again be hosting the finale showcase of this year’s Food, Fibre and Agritech Supernode Challenge. The Challenge looks to uncover innovative solutions to solve some of the food and fibre sector’s biggest challenges and to help New Zealand become more productive, sustainable and competitive.
Following day one of E Tipu 2022, summit attendees are invited to watch Challenge finalists present their disruptive ideas and find out which innovative teams are crowned the 2022 winners at the awards ceremony.
The Challenge is powered by ChristchurchNZ with the support of KiwiNet, Canterbury Mayoral Forum and delivery partners UC’s Centre for Entrepreneurship (UCE), ThincLab Canterbury and B.linc Innovation.
In addition to supporting acceleration in the sector, ChristchurchNZ works to cultivate a thriving future for the city and people of Ōtautahi — championing the region’s vibrancy, capacity for innovation, and economic competitiveness. With more than half of the 2022 summit’s attendees likely to reside outside of greater Christchurch, E Tipu offers a unique platform to showcase the region.
