BREAD & CIRCUS World Buskers Festival Announces 2024 Dates

Bread & Circus – World Buskers Festival has today announced that this much-loved summer highlight will be hitting the streets of Ōtautahi Christchurch for its 31st year from 19 – 28 January 2024.

The 2024 festival will run for 10 days straight during the summer school holidays in the heart of central Christchurch across multiple open-air busking pitches and some of the city’s best loved venues.

As one of the most highly anticipated and attended events on Ōtautahi’s summer calendar, the city will become the ultimate playground of fun for the young, the old and the young at heart.

The joy that the buskers bring to Christchurch at a time of year filled with long, summer days is always wildly entertaining for locals and a little bit magic for visitors. And the 2024 programme is set to be as colourful and chaotic as ever!

Giving a hint at what’s to come next, Festival Director Scott Maidment promised “The 2024 program invites the whole of NZ and beyond to come and play in Christchurch! Bring out your inner child as we blend home-grown talent, festival favourites, as well as some fresh faces from far-flung locations. The line-up will see some mind-blowing acrobats, trapeze artists and magicians as well as comedians, musicians and dancers take to the streets and stage.”

We are delighted to be counting down for Bread & Circus World Buskers Festival to return to Ōtautahi Christchurch. The festival is a special event in our city and an annual celebration of arts and culture in the best way. It brings the kind of fun and playful energy that we love to foster here in Ōtautahi, and even better that we get to provide a stage for the incredible local and international talent we see each year.”
