You fly in to your drop off point on a remote part of the glacier. Your guide will outfit you with special ice spikes for your feet, called crampons, which are designed for glacier conditions. Day 1 you climb 1000m through rugged terrain above the Tasman Glacier up to Caroline Hut. Day 2 you will descend back into the Tasman Valley. Trekking time will be about 6 hours each day. You need to be sure-footed and have overnight hiking experience to cope with the untracked mountain terrain. This trek will give you a high mountain experience of this beautiful area.
