Uncrowded Skiing

The Mackenzie boasts four picturesque ski-fields (Mt Dobson, Roundhill, Fox Peak and Ōhau) and a range of epic ‘bucket list’ ski experiences including backcountry touring, heli-skiing and skiing the mighty Tasman Glacier. New Zealand’s Largest Glacier (and longest ski run)

Many don’t know that the Mackenzie is home to New Zealand’s largest glacier: the mighty Tasman Glacier. And even better, you can take your pick from a range of experiences including scenic flight and landings, heli-hiking, snow-shoeing and skiing. Skiing the Tasman Glacier is perfect for the intermediate skier (green to blue grade), and is New Zealand’s longest ski run at 8-10km.
